				Austragungsmodus:
				Die NFL-Saison 1970 ist die 51. Saison der US-amerikanischen Footballliga National Football League (NFL).
				Es ist die erste NFL-Saison nach dem Zusammenschluss der American Football League (AFL) und National Football League (NFL).
				Zum Zeitpunkt der Fusion spielen in der NFL 16 Teams und in der AFL zehn. Aus den beiden Ligen werden zwei Conferences gebildet.
				Aus der AFL entsteht die American Football Conference (AFC) und aus der NFL die National Football Conference (NFC).
				Um das Ungleichgewicht bei der Anzahl der Mannschaften zu beseitigten wechseln manche Teams in die AFC. Die Conferences werden in drei Division geteilt.
				Ferner wird die Zuordnung zu einzelnen Division neu organisiert.
				Während der Regular Season bestreitet jedes Team 14 Spiele. Daran anschließend spielen die besten Teams in der Postseason in Playoffs um den Meistertitel.
				An den Playoffs nehmen jeweils die drei Divisionssieger und das weitere beste Team (das sogenannte Wild Card Team) einer Conference teil.
				Die daraus ermittelten Meister von AFC und NFC treffen im fünften Super Bowl aufeinander.

				In dieser Saison besteht die National Football League (NFL) aus 26 Teams.
				Die American Football Conference (AFC) ist in drei Divisionen unterteilt mit fünf Teams in der AFC East, vier in der AFC Central und vier in der AFC West.
				Die National Football Conference (NFC) ist in drei Divisionen unterteilt mit fünf Teams in der NFC East, vier in der NFC Central und vier in der NFC West.
