				Austragungsmodus:
				Die NHL-Saison 1997/1998 ist die 81. Saison der nordamerikanischen National Hockey League (NHL).
				Während der Regular Season bestreitet jedes Team 82 Spiele.
				An den Playoffs nehmen aus jeder Conference die beiden Divisionssieger sowie die sechs weiteren punktbesten Teams teil.
				Über Achtelfinale (Division-Halbfinale, Best of seven), Viertelfinale (Division-Finale, Best of seven),
				Halbfinale (Conference-Finale, Best of seven) und Finale (Best of seven) wird der Stanley Cup ausgespielt.
				Teilnehmer:
				In dieser Saison besteht die National Hockey League (NHL) aus 26 Teams.
				Die Eastern Conference ist in zwei Divisionen unterteilt mit sieben Teams in der Atlantic Division und sechs in der Northeast Division.
