	Zur Spielzeit 1956/1957 wird eine neue Fußball-Verbandsliga Mittelrhein eingeführt. Die Liga ist die dritthöchste Liga in Westdeutschland, unterhalb der Zweiten Fußball-Oberliga, oberhalb der Fußball-Landesliga Mittelrhein.
	Die Fußball-Verbandsliga Mittelrhein spielt eingleisig, mit 15 Mannschaften. Die Fußball-Landesliga Mittelrhein (Gruppe II) spielt in der Spielzeit 1956/1957 weiterhin mit 15 Mannschaften.
